Every Panda loves yummy beer, and Whistler Brewing’s Bear Paw Honey Lager is just that – yummy for a Panda tummy. It’s smooth, goes down all too easy, has a gentle sweetness, and warm malty overtones (that’s as hipster as I get). When I just want to kick back and relax, I go to a Bear Paw. Spending time with friends around the campfire, I go to a Bear Paw. Cooking up a storm in the kitchen, calls for a Bear Paw.
Bear Paw is the Panda’s go to beverage, and highly recommended for anyone wanting a beer with character, that’s easy on the palate, and light on the hops.
How I like it…
Pour the velvety smooth, deep golden malt beverage into a glass and let it sit for a spell – for me a good 5 minutes just about does it. Don’t rush it! Otherwise you’re just wiping foam from your upper lip, fighting back excited effervescence, and killing your taste buds with an ice cold beverage. Like most quality beers, they should be neither too cool nor too warm, but juuuuuuust right – creds to Goldilocks.
This award winning beer seems to get better over time, so “take it easy” and enjoy.
The flip side…
Inconsistent. Most of the time it’s exactly the way I like it. However, like any cottage brewer they are not without their warts, and there has been the odd occasion where the product has not lived up to my praises.
All that to say, don’t let this hold you back.
Where to get it…
Outside of the Whistler Brewing tasting room, and almost all establishments in Whister proper, most of the LM/FV BC liquor stores carry it. I’ve got one of the finest craft beer outlets in the valley here in Abbotsford which is my go to (more on them in a later blog), and usually don’t have a hard time tracking a 6 pack down.
Check out their website for links to find their fine products in your area.
Gonna go quench that panda sized thirst… cheers!
